Welcome Back, Emeritus Professor Rick Le Couteur
World-renowned specialist neurologist Emeritus Professor Rick Le Couteur returns as our Keynote Speaker — fittingly, for our 10th Annual Conference, since Rick was also a speaker at our very first conference back in 2017.
Emeritus Professor Rick Le Couteur graduated from the University of Sydney in 1975 and is Professor Emeritus of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of California, Davis. Following specialty training in Canada and the United States, he served on the faculties of Colorado State University and UC Davis, where he became internationally recognised for his contributions to veterinary neurology, neurosurgery and education.
A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology) and the European College of Veterinary Neurology, Emeritus Professor Le Couteur has lectured in more than 70 countries and has received numerous teaching awards throughout his career. He has also served as Editor-in-Chief of Clinician's Brief and Chief Veterinary Officer for the North American Veterinary Community.
Since retiring from UC Davis in 2015, Emeritus Professor Le Couteur has continued his passion for education as Director of Education for Veterinary Expeditions, combining continuing education with wildlife conservation around the world. He is also an accomplished wildlife photographer and the author of children's books that inspire young readers to appreciate biodiversity and the natural world.
